Unfortunately, I have no news from Haiti specifically about Katie.

I received an email from Lynda Gehrels, wife of Jim Gehrels, who is the volunteer president of Lifewater Canada. Jim and another volunteer are heading for Haiti today. As you know, we have supported Lifewater Canada's efforts in providing clean water in Africa. I was unaware that they have operations in Haiti. I have asked them to visit the hotel site and do what they can to look around and gather information. They have pictures of Katie and pretty much all the information we have. Let's hope that they can make a difference. Everything helps!

I have pledged towards Lifewater for Haiti. I would like you to consider doing the same. It would be a wonderful achievement if we could get enough money to drill and construct a well in Haiti. On behalf of Franz Environmental, I will top up what I already pledged to match whatever amount we collect from Franz Environmental staff. You can donate via lifewater.ca, and just let Icoma know that you did, so Lifewater can total up the amount. Let's get a water supply well for Haiti! It would make a huge difference to them.

A lot of support has been pouring in for Katie. Tonight is a vigil for Katie in Ottawa and another one in Prescott where she grew up. The facebook site Help Find Katie now has 1500 members.

Keep your hopes up, the rescue teams are still there and they are still finding survivors!

Sincerely,
Thomas Franz, M.Sc., P.Geo.
